Express Entry
Your Pathway to Permanent Residency in Canada
Others Services
The Canadian government uses the Express Entry online system to manage applications for skilled-worker permanent residence via three programs — the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Federal Skilled Trades Program and the Canadian Experience Class.
Applicants first create a profile and enter the pool; only those with top scores are invited to apply for permanent residence.
Scores are assigned under the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), based on factors like education, language ability, work experience and other adaptability factors.
From March 25 2025 onward, the CRS no longer awards additional points solely for a valid job offer.
Once invited, candidates must submit a complete application (with documents and fees) within 60 days.
Most complete applications are processed in six months or less.
Applicants must prepare key documents ahead of time — e.g., language test results, educational credential assessments and proof of funds.
Entering the pool does not guarantee an invitation to apply; maintaining and improving one’s profile (for example through higher language scores or additional work experience) is advised.
